About Connie

Communication coach, consultant & trainer,

Connie helps leaders in business and law tell their stories

to their important audiences, inspiring collaboration & action.

Her unique combination of skills and experience has earned her the nickname, "Miracle Worker." Connie’s background is as a professional actress, artist.  Add to that ten years of work as a communication consultant between tribal governments, local, state, and federal bureaucracies, corporations and environmental and sports fishing groups in high stake negotiations in the water quality-quantity management arena.  Now add 30 years of coaching a variety of attorneys in litigation communication and professionals in public speaking skills.  These have all contributed to her ability to make a significant difference for her clients.

Connie’s education includes a BFA in acting from the famed Carnegie Mellon University Drama Program; course work in negotiation, mediation, and integral leadership at Antioch University, physical theatre and solo performance at Freehold Theatre, and facilitation methods from the Institute of Cultural Affairs.  This past year she was a Fellow at the World Affairs Council.

This year her pro bono activities include providing presentation skills training and coaching for volunteers of a speakers' bureau for the King County Bar Association's Drug Policy Committee.  In addition she is working with Powerful Voices,  an organization that “instills leadership skills, fosters development of critical thinking and promotes the individual potential in adolescent girls through programs in Seattle public middle schools and in and out of juvenile detention.”

Currently she is particularly interested in the unique challenges that leaders in global business enterprises and organizations face when communicating with their culturally diverse audiences. For example, she coached Maria Gloria Alarcon, President of the largest dairy company in Ecuador, for her inaugural address as the new President of the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce (12,500 members), as well as the recently published Ecuadorean political writer, Andres Seminario (The Karioke Society).  In addition she has coached Microsoft’s Technical Policy Director for Africa and the Mid-east.

Her Pivotal Presentations coaching sessions, workshops & in-house training programs teach presenters to deal successfully with their anxiety, engage their audiences and inspire collaboration and action. Her current on-going program, Great Women Speakers, teaches the development of leadership capacity through speaking.
